This harbour is located in the centre of the town, near the Trieux and Jaudy estuaries and the Bréhat archipelago.
As early as the 15th century, the sailors from Paimpol organized vast fishing campaigns that extended to the rich waters of Newfoundland. In 1852, Paimpol became the main fitting center for cod fishing in Iceland. Cod fishing has had its time. The first basin dates back to 1842, the second to 1902.
