Trieux estuary

Upstream from Lézardrieux, the Trieux estuary widens into a maritime plain of 370 acres, largely exposed at low tide. Fall back place at high tide for a large proportion of the estuary waterfowl, to be seen from the shore: brent, goose, shelduck, grey plover, redshank …
La Roche aux Oiseaux
« Birds' Rock » stands at the mouth of the River Trieux and the Ile-à-Bois (wooded island). Vantage point over the mouth of the Trieux and the wooded island. The undergrowth is populated with Arbutus, the strawberry tree, a Mediterranean species. Steep footpath to descend to the strand.
Ploubazlanec and the Bréhat Archipelago
  • Loguivy-de-la-mer :
A typical fisherman cove and a great place for shellfish.
  • Pointe de l'Arcouest :
This is the spot for a beautiful view over the Isle of Bréhat. You can also discover a fine population of yellow Cotula patches.
  • Pors-Even :
a small fishing village, with the "Widows's Cross" from which the fishermen's wives would scan the horizon as they waited for the return of their husbands's boat; the chapel filled with fervent votive offerings; the superb view over the Bréhat Archipelago from Pointe de la Trinité or Pointe de l'Arcouest. All this gives greater depth to a tour that is very definitively maritime in nature.
  • Tour de Kerroc'h :
From the top of this 19th-century tower, there is a superb view of the Paimpol Bay
  • Plouézec :
is a locality whose sea front covers 8 miles. It has retained its wild coastline that features cliffs, moors and small creeks. The sites can be accessed by following the cliff circuit known as GR 34 (formely the customs path) where many short walk circuits will enable you to discover its beaches and strands.
